THESIS

System Of Ephemeral Residences

While observing modern society, we see that mobility plays an important role in it. Students, artists, freelancers that work through internet and travelers create a new type of nomads. They travel around the world in order to take off their career, to feel new experiences and acquire knowledge.

During their ephemeral stay they spend most of their day in the city, in order to work and socialize, spending only their sleeping hours in their private space, with minimum space requirements.

A structural system is created to assemble and disassemble, to transfer to another empty lot and with no ecological footprint. This metal structure for modern nomads is a response to empty high-rise buildings walls, as city’s remains. It is placed alongside the empty wall and grows in height. It consists of a metal frame structure in which they are assembled small housing units.

On the ground floor are placed the public uses and a garden, whilst on the upper floors are placed the housing modules. Every module has an area of 11sq.m. and can house 1-2 persons.
